Natalie B Coleman

Natalie B Coleman is a native of Co. Monaghan, Ireland. In 2006 Natalie graduated from BA (Hons) Fashion & Design, Limerick School of Art & Design, by 2007 she was studying on the MA Fashion in Womenswear at Central Saint Martins under the tutelage of the late Louise Wilson.

Natalie’s work pivots between tradition and innovation. The use of indigenous tweeds from family weavers Molloy & Sons in Donegal are frequently used in the collections. She has developed a modern Irishness in her work. This narrative is coupled with opulent fabrics, appliques, whimsical hand beaded and hand painted surface decoration.

Natalie’s AW18 collection Guaranteed to Bleed embodies the spirit of dissent. Girls gather to rebel, reading aloud poems from Rupi Kaur and head banging in ceremonial Scrunchie Mantillas showered in veils of silk tulle.

Celebrating women and sisterhood, the girls wear Irish linens, tweeds and voluminous cardinal red, deepest black and dark ivory silk taffetas with T-shirts of boiled wool embroidered with messages in French knots.
